MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- The chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force is scheduled to visit Minot Air Force Base this week.
Lt. Col. Samuel B. Highley tells the Minot Daily News that Gen. Norton A. Schwartz will meet with airmen and base leadership during his visit.
Schwartz last visited the base in March 2010. He also as in Minot in December 2008 with then Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Minot is the only dual wing nuclear-capable base, with B-52 bombers and Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Both of Minot's wings, the 5th Bomb Wing and the 91st Missile Wing, are units of Air Force Global Strike Command.
