Glass etching class starting at Putnam House

The Putnam House in Carrington has a Summer Art Class Series scheduled with a variety of choices.

Kathy Tebelius of Bowdon will be the instructor for the series which begins Tuesday with the Beginner Glass Etching Class. This class is geared to ages 14 and older. Tebelius will teach the step-by-step process of acid based glass etching, safety techniques and creative applications along the way. The class begins at begins at 7 p.m. and the fee is $5.

All ages are welcome for the Clay Sculpting Class which is set for Tuesday, July 13, where different model mediums will be used for different age groups.

The class begins at 7 p.m. and the fee is $5.

The final art class of the series is the Puppet Making Workshop which will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 3, with a class fee of $15 (materials included). It also begins at 7 p.m. This class will teach simple techniques of puppetry while creating a colorful and personable bird puppet.

Tebelius will be back at the Putnam House on Monday, Aug. 16, to present a puppet show as part of the Music on Main summer programming.

This art series is supported in part through a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts which receives funding from the state Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
