Park board approves pay increase
The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission gave preliminary approval to include a 4% raise for full-time employees in the 2020 budget, according to Doug Hogan, director of the department.
Hogan said the salary increase would be included in preliminary budget figures which would be reviewed at the July and August meetings.
The Parks and Recreation Commission also approved developing a strategic plan and will conduct an online survey to solicit public comment on the departments facilities and programs.
In other business, the board approved the purchase of a used 300 gallon herbicide sprayer for $28,500 with funds to come from the departments facility fund.
