Sen. John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Sen. Kevin Cramer, both R-N.D., announced Wednesday, Jan. 29, that the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Head Start has awarded $1,871,473 to Community Action Region VI to support Head Start services in Stutsman County and the surrounding region.

“Today’s funds will help ensure that Head Start continues to be available for children and families in Jamestown and nearby communities, providing access to valuable early learning resources as well as health and wellness services,” Hoeven said.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide family-centered services for low-income families with young children. They also seek to mobilize local communities to provide the resources and environment necessary to ensure and promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of infants and toddlers through safe and developmentally enriching caregiving.
