Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the death of a Harwood, N.D., man who died early Friday in a one-car crash in Cass County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Charles Gad, 49, was traveling north on 57th Street North in a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser around 6:22 a.m., when it went into the east ditch and overturned along the 3800 block of the road, which is about a 1/2 mile west of Reile's Acres, the patrol said. The street is a gravel roadway.
Gad was found lying outside of the vehicle, the patrol said.
Gad was transported by FM Ambulance Services to Essentia Health in Fargo with life-threatening injuries from the crash and exposure to the elements.
Gad later died as a result of his injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash, the patrol said.
