BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A state Board of Higher Education committee is backing a plan to help monitor North Dakota colleges and universities.
The full board next week will consider the plan recommended by the Budget, Audit and Finance Committee. It includes adding an internal auditor position at the University System office.
The plan is in response to recommendations from the state auditor's office, which concluded this spring that the board doesn't adequately monitor university building projects.
