The Hillcrest Ladies Association held its annual Fun Day golf tournament on July 10 with 27 women participating.
Dawn Zinke carded an 88 to take top honors. Other flight winners include: First Flight: Dawn Zinke, first; Theresa Haag, second; Laura Weis, third. Second Flight: Evie Burgard, first; Cindy Clemens, second; Dorothy White, third. Third Flight: Melody Kemmet, first; Tammy Sadek, second; Judy Olin, third. Fourth Flight: Alice Fredrick, first; Mary Sargent, second; Janet Haugen, third. Fifth Flight: Marlene Axtman, first; Nicole Haut, second; Sherrie Madcke, third. Sixth Flight: Lora Fisher, first; Verna Mae Schrader, second; Marilyn Shafer, third.
Event winners during the tournament include: Longest Putt: Alice Fredrick, Theresa Haag, Alice Williams and Jill Bredahl (two events). Longest Drive: Sherrie Madcke and Laura Weis. Shortest Drive: Penny Peterson and Verna Mae Schrader. Closest to the Pin: Melody Kemmet and Evie Burgard (two events). Closest to the Pin-second Shot: Tammy Sadek and Laura Weis. Hazard Flags: Sherrie Madcke, Shelly Nannenga and Dorothy White.
Marlene Axtman was the winner of the raffle, and everyone won a door prize. After the 18-hole tournament a chicken dinner was served by TJ's Catering. Shady's sponsored a keg.
