BISMARCK (AP) -- Wildlife officials say an adult male mountain lion was shot and killed near Mandaree, within 100 yards of a home.
Randy Kreil, the state wildlife division chief, said the cougar was shot near a rural residence on tribal land on Sunday.
Kreil said tribal officials brought the animal to state Game and Fish headquarters in Bismarck.
Kreil said the cougar was about 4 years old and had a broken rear leg. He said the injured animal posed a threat to residents.
