MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Trollwood Performing Arts School Administration Director Kathy Anderson has been appointed to lead the school on an interim basis, officials said Thursday.
She replaces longstanding leader Vicki Chepulis, who resigned last month.
"I'm filling huge shoes. It's going to be a big challenge," she said, adding she'll do her position in addition to interim director. "I think it's going to be exciting. I have an incredible team of people here."
The 40-year-old Moorhead resident said she expects to be in the interim role until at least next fall.
Anderson has worked off and on since 1990 at Trollwood in south Moorhead.

Until she retires on Feb. 28, Chepulis will help with the transition. The Trollwood co-founder resigned in early October after 31 years in the Fargo School District program.
Meanwhile, Fargo School District Human Resources Director Nancy Jordheim is meeting with staff, community members, volunteers and members of Future Builders, Trollwood's fundraising arm.
She's wants feedback about how or if the district should restructure the leader's job description and what the most important tasks are moving forward.
"Whatever we do, it's going to be significantly different," Jordheim said.
She said she expects the district will open a national search for the permanent role in late spring.
Anderson said, if asked, she'd consider taking it on.
"I'm very open to that possibility," she said. "But right now, my main focus is to make sure we have just one heck of a great summer."
