The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a report of smoke from heating vents at 2625 8th Ave. SW at 10:27 Tuesday, according to Jim Reuther, Jamestown fire chief. The building houses i3G Media and is the studio for its network of radio stations.

Reuther said the department used Ladder 1 to check for hot spots on the roof but found none. This was the second time the new ladder truck was used to check the roof of a possible fire.

The possible smoke was limited to the heating system. The department used fans to ventilate the building before returning to the station at 10:55 a.m. Reuther said 24 firefighters responded to the call and were on the scene about 25 minutes.
