MARION, N.D. — Two people, including a juvenile from Jamestown, were injured in a two-vehicle T-bone accident Friday morning, Aug. 19, about 5 miles west of here, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The juvenile, age unknown, was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer north on 94th Avenue Southeast at about 8:45 a.m., while Dalton Steinkopf, 25, Fargo, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado east on 55th Street Southeast. The patrol said both vehicles were driving on wet gravel roads and approaching an unmarked intersection with water and cattails on the corners.

Both vehicles entered the intersection, and the Ford struck the middle passenger side of the Chevrolet, the patrol said. The Ford came to rest on its wheels facing east, and the Chevrolet came to rest on the drivers side facing southeast.

It is unknown if either driver was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

The patrol said both drivers got themselves out of their vehicles and were transported by LaMoure Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
