Jamestown, LaMoure, Litchville children place in annual education contest

The North Dakota Woman’s Christian Temperance Union held its annual education contest with coloring sheets for kindergarten through grade 3.

The North Dakota Woman’s Christian Temperance Union held its annual education contest with coloring sheets for kindergarten through grade 3, and its poster contest for grades 4-6, Division I. A total of 804 students from 14 schools with 65 classrooms participated in North Dakota with 713 entries.

From the East Region, Jamestown area schools participating included LaMoure Elementary, Litchville-Marion Elementary (LME) and Hillcrest Academy SDA (HCSDA) and Victory Christian School (VCS), Jamestown.

The competition began in the individual schools with the first-place winners from each classroom advancing to the region. The first-place winners in the region advanced on to the state level. The first-place winners in the state will advance to the national competition held in June. Winners in the school received a certificate. Winners in the region and state levels received a certificate, a ribbon and a monetary award.
The state and region winners from the Jamestown area are:
State: Kindergarten – Third, Vivian Peterson, LaMoure Elementary. First Grade – Second, Max Hoke, Victory Christian School. Second Grade – First, Emma Tuchscher, Victory Christian School. Third Grade – Third, Brinley Rufsvold, Litchville-Marion school.

East: Kindergarten – First, Vivian Peterson, LaMoure. First Grade – First, Max Hoke, Victory Christian School. Second Grade – First, Emma Tuchscher, Victory Christian School. Third Grade – First, Brinley Rufsvold, Litchville-Marion.

There were no poster contest winners from the Jamestown area.
