Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission approves contract to offer to new executive director

The commission approved hiring Amy Walters for the Parks and Recreation executive director position at a commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 1. The hiring of Walters will not be official until she accepts the executive director position with a salary.

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously approved Monday, Nov. 15, an employment contract to offer to the new executive director.

The commission directed its attorney, Abbagail Geroux of Dalsted & Ryan P.C., to prepare the contract and authorized Mindi Schmitz, commission chair, to sign the contract on behalf of the Jamestown Parks and Recreation district.

The commission approved hiring Amy Walters for the Parks and Recreation executive director position at a commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 1. The hiring of Walters will not be official until she accepts the executive director position with a salary.

The contract is for a one-year term at the rate of $92,000 and includes a $200 vehicle allowance per month and an individual cellphone plan.

The commission went into executive session for about an hour citing North Dakota Century Code 44-04-19.1.

“The purpose of the executive session would be discussing employer contract and its terms,” Geroux said.
