Jamestown Fire Department calls July 25–Aug. 7:
Aug. 1: 11:27 a.m., ready squad responded to 2425 and 2605 Circle Drive, North Dakota State Hospital-Lahaug Building and Employees Building, to investigate fire alarms activating. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none detected. Causes in each call: Lahaug Building, contractors working; Employees Building, burnt food. Fire alarms were reset. Time out: 25 minutes.
Aug. 2: 10:28 a.m., ready squad responded to 406 18th Ave. NE, single-family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause: faulty detector. Time out: 50 minutes.
Aug. 3: 4:58 p.m., ready squad responded to 300 2nd Ave. NE, Dynamics Marketing, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: systems malfunction. Time out: 50 minutes.
Aug. 4: 6:57 a.m., fire department responded to 1005 James Ave. NE, single-family dwelling, to a report of natural gas leaking. Firefighters localized the leak by turning off the valve. Scene was turned over to Montana Dakota Utilities. No injuries reported. Cause: unknown. Time out: 40 minutes.
Aug. 6: 2:41 p.m., fire department responded to 1506 6th Ave. SW, multi-family dwelling, to a report of smoke in the hallway. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in an apartment. One person was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. No other injuries reported. Most probable cause: smoking materials. Time out: 55 minutes.
