The Jamestown Fire Department was called out to a fire at Cavendish Farms at 7:39 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire Chief Jim Reuther said 31 firefighters responded, but the fire was already out when they arrived.

"The maintenance people had extinguished the fire with CO2 (carbon dioxide) and water," Reuther said.

The fire was in one of the stacks and Reuther said did not know what caused it. Firefighters did check out the attic at the request of the maintenance crew. No fire was found.

Firefighters were at the scene about 35 minutes.
