The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon, said Brian Paulson, fire chief.
The Fire Department was dispatched around 2:25 p.m. to a corn stubble field located about 6 miles south and 1 mile west of Jamestown.
Paulson said a controlled burn jumped across the road and the corn stubble field caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the controlled burn and the fire in the corn stubble field, which burned about 3 to 4 acres total, he said. There were 20 firefighters and six vehicles at the scene for about one hour and 15 minutes, he said.
