JRFD extinguishes grass fire Friday

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department extinguished a grass fire north of Jamestown on Friday, Nov. 13, said Rick Woehl, assistant chief.

The fire was reported at 6:20 p.m. about 5 miles north of Jamestown on N.D. Highway 20. The fire was on the east side of Jamestown Reservoir, Woehl said.

Five units with 12 firefighters responded and were at the scene for 40 minutes. About 20 acres burned, Woehl said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
