FARGO (AP) -- A Minnesota man has pleaded not guilty to stealing more than $250,000 from his aunt who lives in an assisted living center here.

Reed Satrom, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., is charged in with exploitation of a vulnerable adult and misappropriation of entrusted property. Both of the charges are felonies.

Frank Anderson of Fargo was appointed guardian for Irene Satrom after her nephew was removed from that position.

Irene Satrom is in her 80s and is able to pay her bills, but she doesn't have any extra money, Anderson said.

Reed Satrom allegedly took his aunt's money to remodel his home, Anderson said.
