Man allegedly sets apartment on fire

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - A St. Cloud man is in Stearns County Jail after an apparent arson at a southside apartment early Saturday.
At 5:57 a.m., St. Cloud police and firefighters arrived at Park Plaza Apartments, 830 13th St. S, for a fire in a second-floor apartment.
Police say a man entered the apartment of a 21-year-old woman without permission and set a bedroom on fire while she was sleeping in another room. The woman was not injured and the man had fled the scene, according to a report from St. Cloud police.
Officers found Almiqdam Abdullatif Aldhuwayhi, 25, sleeping in his car. He was arrested and taken to Stearns County Jail. He could be charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree arson, violation of a no-contact order and DWI-related offenses.
The fire department estimates the damage at $30,000.
