Man dies from Fargo I-29 off-ramp crash, teen seriously injured

FARGO — A 41-year-old man injured in a Tuesday, Nov. 16, crash at 19th Avenue and I-29 in Fargo has died from his injuries, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in the crash, according to the patrol.

The incident happened at 10:09 p.m. Tuesday. Officers say the 2014 Nissan Altima was being driven by the adult man when it went off the road and struck a traffic light on the north side of 19th Avenue

According to North Dakota Highway Patrol, there was an incident inside the car prior to the crash that caused the passenger to gain control of the steering wheel.

Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to a Sanford hospital, where the 41-year-old man was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seat belt. The 14-year-old boy, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Following the crash, that section of 19th Avenue was shut down until around 3 a.m. while crews repaired the traffic light.
