A man was killed today when the Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving a on rural county road near Watford City, N.D., rolled, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The patrol said the man was driving the truck east on 41st Street Northwest, 15 miles north of Watford City. The truck crested a hill and hit a snow and icy patch on the road. The patrol said the man lost control of the truck, it slid into the ditch, struck a barbed-wire fence and rolled.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The patrol said the man died on the scene.
The man’s identity will not be released until family members are notified. The time of the crash is unknown and the crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
