WILLISTON, N.D.-A 64-year-old man died from injuries he suffered after he was hit in a downtown crosswalk Tuesday afternoon.
Lyle Forsberg of Williston had the right of way while crossing Main Street at Second Street when a pickup truck made a left turn at the light and hit him, police said.
The truck's driver, Bryan Wipf, 21, of Montana, was handcuffed at the scene and faces charges of reckless driving and driving under suspension, Det. Amy Nickoloff of the Williston Police Department said.
The collision happened about 2:10 p.m., Williston Fire Chief Jason Catrambone said. Police and fire officials shut down Main Street from Broadway to Second Street after the crash to complete an investigation.
Police said alcohol or drugs did not contribute to the crash.
