BISMARCK (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to four months in federal prison after he harassed a woman when she refused to move with him to Las Vegas.
Gordon Rettinger, 53, formerly of Belcourt, pleaded guilty in December 2006 to stalking.
Rettinger met the victim while she was dealing cards at a casino near Belcourt. When she refused to join him in Las Vegas, authorities said he harassed the woman by mail and telephone.
Court documents show that Rettinger admitted sending letters with false accusations to the victim's employer, in an attempt to get her fired.
