BISMARCK (AP) -- A Mandan businessman has pleaded not guilty to violating new state restrictions on the sales of chemicals that mimic the effects of methamphetamine and marijuana.
William Nickel appeared in court Friday on three felony drug counts.
Authorities say Nickel once sold incense and bath salts containing chemicals similar to illegal drugs out of his store. He is accused of starting an underground operation when officials made the products known as Stardust and Spark illegal last February.
