Marjorie Franklund, age 86 of Mandan, ND, formerly of Wilton, ND, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at a Mandan care center.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2007, First Presbyterian Church -- Wilton, ND, Rev. Ben Dove, Officiating

Interment: Riverview Cemetery -- Wilton, ND

Visitation: 6:30 PM -- 9:00 PM Monday at Goetz Funeral Home -- Washburn, ND Tuesday, one hour prior to time of service at the church

Marjorie E. Peterson was born September 3, 1920 at Wilton, ND, the daughter to Edwin and Laura (Moline) Peterson. She attended school in Wilton and graduated from Wilton High School. She married Vernon A. Franklund on Dec. 30, 1942 in Wilton. Marge and Vernon shared sixty four wonderful years together living on a farm near Wilton and most recently as residents of the Medcenter One Family Care Center in Mandan. Marge loved being a farmer's wife and worked as a linotype operator for Borlaug Publishing in Washburn for many years.

Marge was well-known for her singing voice, singing at many weddings and funerals in the Wilton area. She served as choir director at First Presbyterian Church for many years and was active with the Ladies Circle. Marge is forever remembered as one who loved family, music, church activities, and especially sledding with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Franklund of Mandan, ND; daughter, Sharon (Dallas) Schilling of Jamestown, ND; three sons, Rick (Cheryl) Franklund of Mandan, ND, Keith (Lee) Franklund of Phoenix, AZ, Les (Jan) Franklund of Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Monroe of Roseburg, OR & Shirley (Richard) Brewer of Bay Village, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Florence & Elizabeth), and one brother (Marvin).
