Mary Tanberg, 68, Jamestown, and formerly of Williston, N.D., and Minot, N.D., died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Mary Ann Raulston was born Dec. 25, 1938, in Williston, the daughter of Delmar and Mabel (Samdahl) Raulston. She graduated from Williston High School in 1957 and was a standout majorette. She married Allen Thorson on July 19, 1957. They lived in Williston where she was a homemaker. She was later divorced. She married Gerald Tanberg in 1976. They lived in Noonan, N.D., for a short time. She worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Crosby, N.D., as a nursing assistant. They later divorced. She moved to Minot where she attended Minot State University. She also worked at the Minot Vocational Workshop as support staff. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal jJustice in 1990. She began working at the North Dakota State Hospital in the Chemical Dependency Unit and women's Correctional Unit. She retired in December 2006. She enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting afghans, sewing quilts an making crafts.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda Tanberg (Mike Freeman), Susan (Joel) Axness, and Rae Ann Thorson, all Minot; three sons, Wade Thorson, Williston, Tony Thorson, Rapid City, S.D., and Cory (Sarah) Thorson, Garrison, N.D.; a brother, Dale, Williston; three sisters, Deloris Brunner, Bainville, Mont., Corene Johnson, Williston, and Diane Rustin, Bakersfield, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Don.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston, with the Rev. Michael Molland officiating.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Everson Funeral Home, Williston, and one hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Riverview Cemetery.
