SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A Springfield man wanted by Massachusetts authorities on several warrants and for failing to register as a sex offender has been apprehended in North Dakota.
The U.S. Marshals Service says 40-year-old Michael Wright Jr. was arrested Tuesday while trying to board a train in Fargo, N.D.
Authorities say Wright, who has been on the run for almost a year, has multiple outstanding warrants in Massachusetts, including one for indecent assault and battery on a person over 14. He also allegedly failed to register his residence with the sex offender registry board as required by law. The state has classified Wright as a Level 3 sex offender, considered the most likely to re-offend.
Wright remains in North Dakota awaiting rendition to Massachusetts. It was not immediately clear of he had a lawyer.
