The Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants swept a pair of amateur baseball games from Groton, S.D.
In the opener Josh Shaw picked up his first his fifth win of the season as he struck out 12 while allowing three earned runs on six hits.
He was backed offensively by John Ness who went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and a pair of RBI while Joey Vannett and Kevin Dobson each added a pair of hits for the Merchants. Robbie Jamison also homered in the game, a solo shot in the third inning.
In the late game Ness allowed three earned runs over five innings to pick up his second victory of the season, striking out six and walking a pair.
Ness was also dangerous at the plate, going 3-for-3. Shaw also added three hits in three at bats, driving in four runs. Jamison added a pair of hits and drove in four runs while Bryan E`rstad produced two RBI on two hits. Trevor Wilson added a two-run double for the Merchants (20-7).
