MINOT (AP) -- Minot State University is increasing security, after the off-campus slaying of a student and a reported assault of another student in a parking lot.
President David Fuller said video cameras will be installed in campus parking lots, lighting is to be added along University Avenue, and overgrown trees will be trimmed to prevent obscured viewing.
Fuller said officials also are looking into the cost of a system that would alert those who sign up about emergencies via their cell phones, telephones and computers.
Officials also are studying the cost of installing loudspeaker systems in campus buildings, he said.
No arrests have been made in the killing of Anita Knutson, whose body was found in her apartment June 4.
