KILLDEER, N.D. (AP) -- Authorities in western North Dakota say a 10-year-old Utah girl who had been reported missing last February has been found and reunited with her father.
Dunn County State's Attorney Ross Sundeen says police discovered the girl unharmed in a Killdeer mobile home park on Wednesday, after an attempted traffic stop for a broken taillight. He tells The Dickinson Press that the girl was living with her mother and a man, neither of whom had legal custody.
Killdeer Police Chief Chris Fenstermaker says officials believe the girl had been in Killdeer since being reported missing and had not been attending school. Authorities did not identify her.
The mother and the man were arrested on several misdemeanor charges. They were not immediately charged in the girl's disappearance.
