THOMPSON, N.D. (AP) -- A moose wandered onto Interstate 29 in eastern North Dakota on Thursday evening, causing two crashes.
The North Dakota State Patrol said 32-year-old Scott Gulsvig of Moorhead was driving south on I-29 about 7 p.m. and hit the moose.
A short time later, the patrol said, a semi driven by 58-year-old Conley Cumming of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, hit the same moose as it lay on the highway.
Gulsvig was treated for minor injuries. Cumming was not hurt.
Trooper Ryan Panasuk said the moose was in "pretty rough shape" after the crashes. He describes the moose as a young one, with no horns or antlers.

Panasuk said crashes involving moose are rare in that part of North Dakota.
