The July Music on Main at the Putnam House in Carrington will feature bluegrass music from Seth Mulder and Goose River Boys of Cummings, N.D.

The summer concert event will begin at 7 p.m. July 30. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and hear the Cummings, N.D., bluegrass band.

The band takes its name from the 90-mile-long Goose River. While they enjoy performing traditional bluegrass, each member of the band brings a perspective to the music, while fashioning the sound into the classic style of the Goose River Boys.

Band members include: Steve Simmons, who has been playing guitar, mandolin and dobro for 20 years; Ron Mulder, the bass player, provides backup and humor; Sally Simmons, the newest member, guitar and vocals; and band leader Seth, at 17, plays lead on guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass and fiddle.

Together they write songs and present vocal harmony. Each year they're scheduled to play at fairs, festivals and rodeos that keep on inviting them back. However, they're always endeavoring to add new festivals.
