BISMARCK (AP) -- The North Dakota insurance commissioner has issued a cease-and-desist order for a Fargo insurance agent accused of dishonest practices.

A news release from Adam Hamm said Janet Lulay is barred from working in insurance until further notice. She can request an administrative hearing on the order within 30 days.

Hamm said Lulay allegedly accepted a check from a client to pay premiums on a homeowner's policy but she deposited the money in her personal bank account.

No number was listed for Lulay. A woman who answered the phone Thursday at First International Insurance in Fargo said Lulay no longer works there.
