BISMARCK (AP) -- North Dakota's Medicaid program will receive more than $730,000 in federal settlements reached with drug manufacturers.
Officials say North Dakota is receiving nearly $308,191 as part of a $520 million federal settlement with AstraZeneca over allegations the drug maker illegally marketed the antipsychotic drug Seroquel.
North Dakota also will receive $422,500 as part of a $72.5 million federal settlement with Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
The settlement resolves claims that Novartis had knowingly promoted the sale and use of a cystic fibrosis drug for uses not approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
