WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) -- Residents of Watford City this week embraced a switch to treated Missouri River water instead of expensive upgrades to the town's well water treatment plant.
Residents on Tuesday voted 372 in favor and only 35 against joining the McKenzie County Water Resource District to get treated water piped in from Williston.
That means 91 percent of voters approved joining the water resource district.
