New York hotel to give away stay to North Dakotans to complete visitor list
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A Syracuse, N.Y., hotel has had visitors from every other state except North Dakota since opening a year ago on Sept. 7.
They want to change that.
The hotel is offering an all-expense paid trip to the Embassy Suites for a couple of lucky North Dakotans.
There is a catch. They want people who have a special attachment to the date of Sept. 7 to write why the day is important to them on the hotel's Facebook page.
The hotel staff will then pick a winner.
The 209-suite hotel is onsite at what they say is an international tourist attraction called Destiny USA. The 2.4 million square foot facility all under one roof offers shopping, dining and entertainment, including indoor go-kart racing, IMAX theater, winery and 250 places to shop and dine.
They say it rivals the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.
"If you're a North Dakotan who is just as excited about our one-year anniversary date as we are—whether it's a birthday, anniversary or meaningful date for any reason—we want you to represent our 50th state," said Destiny USA Embassy Suites General Manager Josh Morey.
The hotel is partnering with the Fargo Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau to help spread the word to North Dakota residents.
To enter those 18 and older can tag the hotel in a message on Facebook using @EmbassySuitesSyracuseDestiny AND the hashtag #YOUBETCHADESTINY. The facebook address is www.facebook.com/EmbassySuitesSyracuseDestiny.
The winner will be notified by 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 and be able to redeem the prize anytime during the next calendar year.
