New Bohemia North Dakota members and supporters will meet for their annual symposium in Rugby, N.D., July 13.
The statewide arts organization meets annually to network, develop and promote the arts community.
The symposium begins at 9 a.m. July 13 and features speakers including Ben Klipfel who will talk about Culture Pulse, the new statewide arts Web site; Amy Schmidt, who will discuss North Dakota Council on the Arts electronic grant submissions, and James Wolberg, who will demonstrate online marketing opportunities such as "MySpace" pages. That evening, the New Bohemia North Dakota (NBND) board will meet to elect new officers.
The group will travel to the International Peace Garden on July 14 to participate in the garden's 75th anniversary celebration. Many NBND artists will display their work at the celebration, which includes hot air balloon rides, concerts, kite flying, a vintage fashion show and a tribute to peace.
Jon Offutt, the organization's "mayor," said the symposium is a professional development event for artists and quality socializing. He said symposium in accomplishes networking.
