UPHAM, N.D. (AP) -- An airplane hangar in North Dakota's McHenry County has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The State Historical Society says the Lower Souris National Wildlife Refuge Airplane Hangar at the J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge near Upham was manufactured in 1947. It was the only hangar built at a wildlife refuge in North Dakota. It housed an airplane used for conservation management throughout North Dakota and neighboring states.

The National Register is the federal government's list of properties it considers worthy of recognition and preservation.
