BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Officials say flooding and a cold, wet spring has kept visitors from North Dakota's state parks this year.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that the tally could fall below 1 million visitors for the first time in three years.
Officials say visitation at North Dakota's 13 state parks was down about 20 percent through the September. About 788,000 people visited state parks this year compared to about 990,000 through the first three quarters of 2010.
The record number of visitors at North Dakota's state parks was set in 1995 at 1.2 million.
