PEMBINA, N.D. — Border Patrol agents assigned to the Pembina, N.D., station found a suspicious vehicle, a Buick Enclave, near the former Noyes Port of Entry that had been reported stolen in Oklahoma after receiving a tip on June 23.
“This incident is an excellent example of how we use technology and leverage partnerships with our Canadian law enforcement partners to maintain situational awareness and secure our shared border,” Acting Chief Patrol Agent Michael W. Hanson said.
Agents tracked the vehicle down and found it unoccupied near the Canadian border.
The driver of the vehicle was found and arrested near Emerson, Manitoba in a joint effort with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The vehicle itself was turned over to the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office.
