BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- A North Dakota man has pleaded not guilty to a charge that he tried to sign a 14-year-old south-central Kentucky girl out of school to marry his companion's son.
Charged with attempted kidnapping is 19-year-old Elvis Tahirovic of Fargo. Tahirovic was arraigned Monday in Warren County Circuit Court.
Tahirovic and 42-year-old Dragan Jovanovic, also of Fargo, allegedly drove from North Dakota to Bowling Green in September to pick up the girl, who police say had been communicating online with Jovanovic's 14-year-old son.
The Daily News in Bowling Green reported that Jovanovic also appeared in court Monday but wasn't arraigned because an interpreter is needed. The teenagers' families are from Bosnia.
