BISMARCK — A man has been killed at a motel in Bismarck, police said Friday, Sept. 23.

Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. Friday to the Motel 6 at 2433 State St. for a report of a man shot in the chest, the Bismarck Police Department said in a Facebook post. Investigators are treating the death as a murder, the statement said.

Police did not identify the 28-year-old who died from a gunshot wound. Few details were released about what happened, a motive or a possible suspect.

Officers said they believe the victim was the target of another person, adding the public is not in danger.
