One dead in Minnesota crash

WOODBURY, Minn. --An Ohio man died and two other people were critically injured in a head-on crash during Friday morning rush hour here, causing westbound Interstate 94 traffic to back up into Wisconsin.

WOODBURY, Minn. --An Ohio man died and two other people were critically injured in a head-on crash during Friday morning rush hour here, causing westbound Interstate 94 traffic to back up into Wisconsin.

The Minnesota State Patrol said an eastbound Dodge Neon crossed the median and struck a westbound Ford F150 pickup truck at 6:18 a.m.

The driver of the Neon, 76-year-old Ralph Woodworth of Lima, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol said. A passenger in the Neon, 74-year-old Erma Woodworth, was injured and listed in criticial condition late Friday morning.

The driver of the truck, Randy Russell, 49, of Houlton, Wis., also was injured and listed in critical condition.

"It sounds like everybody had their seat belts on," State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said.

There is no median barrier in that area of the interstate. The road conditions were wet, the State Patrol said.
