One person was sentenced recently on a felony charge in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Michael Joel Balthazor, 53, Streeter, North Dakota, pleaded guilty to prohibited acts A/controlled substances, a Class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Balthazor was accused of possessing marijuana with intent to deliver, one or more scales and one or more pipes used with methamphetamine on April 20.
Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Balthazor to one day in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation with credit for one day served on both charges. Balthazor was placed on 18 months supervised probation and ordered to pay a $25 victim-witness fee, $40 costs/state, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $400 criminal administration fee.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
