BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a federal lawsuit in North Dakota alleging that female employees at a Bismarck Applebee's restaurant were subjected by a former general manager to sexual harassment and retaliation.
The lawsuit was filed against Minot-based Food Management Investors Inc. and Apple Core Enterprises Inc. President Myron Thompson did not immediately return a telephone call Wednesday seeking comment.
The EEOC lawsuit was prompted by discrimination complaints filed by five former female workers at the restaurant. It alleges violations of federal civil rights laws in connection with about 20 former employees.
The lawsuit seeks financial damages and asks the court to require Apple Core/FMI to adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy.
