Jason Schutt pitched well in his Northern League all-star game appearance.
Brent Krause will miss out on his chance to play in the American Association all-star game. But that's good news for the former Jamestown College outfielder.
Krause, who played for the Jimmies from 2001-04, has been signed by the Baltimore Orioles organization.
The Andover, Minn., native was one of only two players who had played in every game this season for the St. Paul Saints, and he was hitting at a sizzling .379 clip. Krause had four homers, 20 doubles, three triples and 41 RBI in 55 games. He was slugging .546 with an on-base percentage of .427.
Defensively, Krause ranked had six outfield assists and had only committed three errors.

He led the American Association in hits with 86 and was among the league leaders in several other categories -- second in batting average, tied for third in triples, fifth in doubles and fifth in slugging percentage.
"It was an honor to play for the Saints," Krause said. "I grew up watching the Saints and I enjoyed my time here."
Krause helped lead Jamestown College to its first NAIA World Series appearance in 2004. He had a brief stint in the Minnesota Twins organization and was named Northern League Rookie of the Year while playing with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in 2005.
The Baltimore Orioles purchased Krause's contract and will send him to their Class A team, the Frederick Keys of the Carolina League.
He was the second Saints player this season to have his contract purchased by a major-league organization after the Philadelphia Phillies signed left-handed pitcher Luis Villarreal last month.
Schutt, a former Jamestown High School standout, was one of eight Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks chosen to play in the Northern League all-star game, which was played on Tuesday night at Fargo's Newman Outdoor Field.
He entered the game in relief for the North all-stars and pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Schutt, who leads the Northern League with a 1.76 ERA, struck out two of the three batters he faced in pitching a 1-2-3 seventh.

The South team posted a 7-5 victory over the North, scoring four runs in the first two innings off starting pitcher Scott Richmond.
Schutt is in his first season with the RedHawks and has posted a 3-2 record while pitching in relief.
He previously played two-plus seasons in the Cleveland Indians organization. The 2002 JHS grad has allowed 31 hits in 41 innings, walking 10 and striking out 16.
Schutt was a 10th-round pick by the Indians in 2005 and helped lead the Jamestown Legion baseball team to a state title in 2002.
The RedHawks resume play following the all-star break by opening a four-game series in Winnipeg on Thursday. They return home to start a four-game series against Edmonton on Monday at Newman Outdoor Field.
