A total of 20 people volunteered to donate blood, from which 26 units were collected, during Pingree-Buchanan's June 18 blood drive. Eight donors donated on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two units of red blood cells at once.
Jackie Readel coordinated the drive. Others who assisted the day of the drive were: Maurice Adair, LaRue Odenbach, Lisa Blaskowski, Carrie Odenbach and Chris Neys. Space to hold the blood drive was provided by the Pingree Community Center.
Donations will help meet the blood needs of patients in 73 area hospitals served by United Blood Services.
