A 17-year-old man who escaped from the North Dakota Youth Correctional Center in Mandan Saturday has been captured, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Sunday the Mandan Police Department received a tip that Malachi Redroad was near a business on Memorial Highway in Mandan. Mandan police officers and Highway Patrol trooper searched the area and located Redroad. He was taken into custody without incident.
Redroad and another Correctional Center resident assaulted two guards on Saturday during their escape. The other resident was caught shortly after the escape.
The case remains under investigation.
