BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Authorities say a tossed apple led was a factor in a car crash in Bismarck.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said a Bismarck woman reported someone in another vehicle threw something at her car before crashing into a utility pole.
Buschena said officers cited a 14-year-old Lincoln boy, who was a front seat passenger in the car that crashed, for throwing missiles. Police said the 15-year-old driver told officers the younger boy had thrown an apple out of the window.
Police said the crash caused $2,500 damage to the Montana- Dakota Utilities pole and $5,000 damage to the teenager's car. The 15-year-old was cited for reckless driving.
Buschena said there was no damage to the woman's car.
