The bats were certainly working overtime as Jamestown pounded out 23 hits in a doubleheader split with West Fargo in Eastern Division American Legion Baseball action on Friday.

"On the road, you look for the split and hope for the sweep," said Post 14 coach Robbie Jamison. "It was a pretty impressive day offensively."

Four Post 14 players registered a multi-hit game in late game, a 9-3 victory.

Zec Tahran, Brady Schoeler, Andrew Davidson and Levi Gaunska each went 2-for-4 in the affair while Kyle Walden reached base in all four at bats. Jordan Gengler also got a hit in his only at bat for Jamestown, which posted 12 hits in the game, and picked up the save.

"As a whole we averaged half an error per game which we are aiming for," said Jamison. "We minimized walks in the first game, not so much in the second, but Brady can pitch around walks and strike guys out."

Schoeler struck out six in 5 2/3 innings of work en route to the win.

Post 14 outhit West Fargo 11-10 in the opener, but allowed a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning that proved to be the difference in a 7-5 loss.

Nick Walden was 2-for-3 in the game, including a double.

"Confidence at the plate is something that we don't lack," said Jamison.

Jamestown continues Eastern Division play today when they host Grand Forks at Jack Brown Stadium with the first game scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

"At 4-2 in the East, we have to be near the top," Jamison said. "We have two big games with Grand Forks and a chance to separate ourselves further. Two wins there would put us right near the top."
